Have a spare 40 minutes or so? Then I recommended you check out this MTV documentary from 2003 titled The Rise and Rise of Jay-Z. It provides a detailed and intimate look into Hov’s early years, the formation of Roc-A-Fella Records, and tracks his imminent rise to music stardom. It features interviews from some of Hov’s closest family and friends, including his sister Michelle, cousin Bee-High, Ty Ty, Dame Dash, Memphis Bleek, Chaka Pilgrim, and the rest of the extended Roc-A-Fella family.
